Still Loud, Still Legendary: Queensrÿche and Slaughter Take Over The Grand Theatre 

The Grand Sierra Resort in Reno played host to a night of unrelenting hard rock nostalgia, proving that classic rock energy never truly fades. While the venue wasn't completely full, the fans who filled the room brought enough passion and raw noise to rival a sold-out arena. Every person in attendance was plugged into the exact same high-octane frequency, having the time of their lives as two legendary acts brought decades of timeless anthems back to life.

​Slaughter kicked off the evening with a wild, crazy, and relentlessly energetic stage presence that instantly set the room on fire. Launching headfirst into "Mad About You" and "Burnin' Bridges," the band established a heavy, driving groove that had the audience on their feet from the first chord. Mark Slaughter sounded incredible after all these years, hitting high notes with ease and engaging the crowd like a quintessential frontman who hasn't lost a step. By the time they tore through "Spend My Life" and "Unknown," the arena was fully dialed into their classic hair-metal glory days.

​As the set progressed, the band showcased both their technical chops and their deep connection to the crowd. A blistering drum solo during "Eye to Eye" gave the rhythm section its moment in the spotlight before Mark stepped forward for an intimate moment during "Days." The momentum built steadily through "Real Love" until the inevitable, chill-inducing singalong of "Fly to the Angels." Slaughter capped off their hour-long set with an explosive delivery of the ultimate party anthem "Up All Night," leaving the stage drenched in sweat and the audience hungry for the headliner.
