Corrosion of Conformity
Cargo Concert Hall, Reno, NV
April 24, 2026
The room at Cargo was ready by the time the lights went down. After J.D. Pinkus finished his set, there was a shift in the room as Corrosion of Conformity took over. From the first note, the sound was dialed in perfectly—heavy, clear, and loud enough to feel.
It wasn't a night for a lot of talk or stage antics. The band stayed focused on the riffs, and the crowd followed suit. It felt like everyone in the building was locked into the same groove. The guitars had that signature thick, southern grit, but nothing got lost in the mix. When they hit the slower, bluesier sections, you could hear every bend and every bit of sustain. It wasn’t just a wall of noise; it was calculated and heavy.
The setlist was lean, starting off with tracks like "Asleep on the Killing Floor" and "My Grain." These openers set a dark, mid-tempo pace that grounded the room. There wasn't any flashy intro—just the band plugging in and getting to work.
A standout moment in the middle of the set was "Vote With a Bullet." It brought a sharper, more aggressive edge to the night compared to the bluesier tracks. The transition from that into "Albatross" showed the range they still carry. "Albatross" felt massive in Cargo; the main riff had enough space to breathe, and the crowd was visibly in sync with the slower, swinging rhythm.
They closed things out with "Clean My Wounds," which served as the high point of the night. It's a track everyone knows, but they didn't play it like a tired radio hit—it had the same grit as the deeper cuts. By the time they finished, the room was primed for Clutch.
